Get those old models on the table! 'Refugees of the Mortals Realms'

Don't you get bummed that some of your good ol' models have suddenly not been taken up in the new Allegiances and keywords? Despite the fact they have no game balance issues and fit the Allegiance perfectly?
These models all have warscrolls and rules, but... don't belong to the rest of the Allegiance :(

Well, if you feel like doing justice to GW's "this is YOUR game" policy, especially if you are a tournament or event organizer, how about throwing in a checklist of "old" models u wish players can field?
Because they should have fun with the models they own: they have rules in this edition and and are perfectly viable!

REFUGEES OF THE MORTAL REALMS
A checklist of "old" units to add into "new" Allegiances.

Each change and addition has a little checkbox, so organizers can choose which to include and not.

What do you think? Any glaring omissions or potentially game-breaking combos I'm not seeing?

Malign Portents in Age of Sigmar 2.0

Here I try to provide a few solutions to use the Malign Portents rules.
Both for Matched Play, or as a Ruse card for Open and Narrative play.

The Malign Portents ruleset is quite interesting, if a bit cumbersome, but if used in small bits it can be very interesting.
Depending on the army, it could complement it in a really interesting way.

It became clear, during our games, that the Realm of Death rules, as presented in the Malign Portents book, added too much complexity on top of using the Portents rules themselves, and should be used in dedicated games (as a Twist only).
Therefore, I separated the Matched Play rules, with points, to use only Interpreters and Signs.

As an alternative, because the Prophecy Points rules introduce a "finite resource" mechanic that you need to make more decisions on (on top of your spells, Command Abilities and Allegiance Abilities) here is a simpler way to use them.
A Ruse card, to use in Narrative or Open Play, that grants one of your Heroes the ability to become an interpreter and choose a Guiding Malign Portent. Then, you get continuous Signs being revealed, one at a time, but they are automatically triggered as soon as the conditions are fulfilled!
No more prophecy point allocation decisions: you just know which Sign is coming, and try to get into position to fulfill its conditions as soon as you have enough Prophecy Points. Just like trying to fulfill a prophecy!!

Hope it is helpful, and can bring back some use of these really interesting, cool and creepy rules.
And probably in a more streamlined manner.
If you try it, please leave some feedback!

Roll high and prosper!

I am back!

I haven't been posting for a while.
I'm very sorry folks, especially for those who had been waiting for release of some new rules.

The reason was work stress. Toxic work environment. A lot of it.
It gets to you, and exhausts your energy to do anything. You cannot stay focused and you start suffering from a famine of time. So your hobbies suffer.

If you think me sharing this is weird, then step back and look around you: either someone you know is going thru something similar, or you yourself may go thru it at some point. We're all in the same boat together.

I've still been gaming for the past 2 years (see below) but not as much as before. And have not had the energy to keep constant updates, only slowly working on projects.
It makes you realize how important it is, in your life, to get together with friends and like minded people, to play some games and get energized to do the things that make you happy.

I have to thank my partner, my close friends and enthusiastic gaming buddies that pulled me out of (and through) the funk, and got me to think about what I really enjoy. Community is important: just a few good words of support to a buddy can make all the difference.

So to all folks out there who may be going thru some rough stuff, you are not alone, and this thing is kind of a sign of our times: too much work and too much obssession about stuff we dont care to get things we dont need to impress people we dont like.
We just have to find what's important in our lives and stick to it. ;)

Now for some updates!
- I have a Mordheim playtested scenario that I still have to polish and publish.
- I ran an Age of Sigmar Narrative Event using Forbidden Power: a low-model-count dungeon crawl.
- I participated again in this year's NoVA Open's Grand Narrative Event, like last year.
- I have started a podcast with a fellow NEO (Narrative Event Organizer) covering narrative events for Age of Sigmar
- I am now on Twitter! Nuno M, NEO@WH_narratives https://twitter.com/WH_Narratives

Will have some new posts on all this soon, as my backlog has grown a bit too big.
I will have to update a few sections of the blog, as well.

Be back soon!
